Young Usnavi lives in the New York area of Washington Heights. He owns a bodega and cares about an elderly Cuban woman, Abuela Claudia. Usnavi secretly in love with the local beauty Vanessa and in the near future he wants to realize his dream — to go to the Dominican Republic and open his own bar.
